Kheer
Portion for 5 persons
Ingredients:
¼ cup basmati rice
1 litre Candia milk
125 g Condensed milk
5 table spoon white sugar
½ teaspoon cardammon Powder
1 tablespoon of almonds and golden raisins
1 vanilla gourmet pod
Method:
Rinse rice in fresh water and let soak for 15 minutes
Pour Candia milk in wide pan on medium low heat and stir at intervals till it comes to boil
Drain water from rice and add to hot boiling milk
Split vanilla pod in half and put all its seeds together with the cooking milk and rice.
Mix well with a spoon on low heat
Half cook the rice, then add sugar and mix
Simmer till rice is almost cooked. Stir at intervals
Then add cardamon powder and almonds(you can also add various other nuts according to your preferences)
Mix well till rice is completely cooked.
Switch off heat
Add golden raisins
Kheer can now be served in individual bowls.
Serve hot, warm or chilled
